Hyderabad, June 20(ANI): Ace Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal's father on Sunday said that her Indonesian Open title win was the result of her immense hard work and determination.
Saina clinched the third Super Series title of her career by defeating Japan's Sayaki Sato 21-19, 13-21, 21-11 in the finals in Jakarta today.
"It feels nice. Somebody who does it twice, it shows that earlier also she was like this and this year too. Last year she defeated so many big names of China. This year they were not here, but some other girls from other countries like European champion, like Japanese champion, like Indonesia itself is a big country of badminton," said Harvir Singh Nehwal, Saina's father.
"They all were having their eyes set on this tournament, and among them Saina did so well and got the title second time. This is very marvelous," he added.
Saina's mother Usha Nehwal said that she was grateful to her daughter for making India and the family proud.
"We are really happy and it's a wonderful feeling. Saina has won three international titles. We are very happy with her performance," she added.
Presently ranked third in the world, she had earlier won the Indian Open Grand Prix and the Singapore Open Super Series. (ANI)
