Two killed in Sopore clash, indefinite curfew imposed

Sopore (J-K), June 26 (ANI): An indefinite curfew is on in Jammu and Kashmir's Sopore town since Friday evening after two civilians were killed in a firing.

 

Thousands of protestors came out on the streets after the firing took place to break a protest.

 

According to sources, the CRPF personnel opened fire when an angry mob attacked their vehicle and set it ablaze.

 

"The CRPF personnel fired in self-defence injuring seven people, two of whom later succumbed to injuries," the police officer said.

 

The two youth killed have been identified as Shakeel Ahmad Ganai, 17 and Firdous Ahmad Kakroo, 16.

 

All the injured have been admitted to a hospital. (ANI)
