London, Sept.12 (ANI): Former England football captain David Beckham is desperate for England fans to fall in love with the team again.
The 4-1 thrashing of Croatia on Wednesday night has ignited a feel good factor about the Three Lions that has been missing for a long time, reports The Sun. "I really hope this result can lift the nation as a whole. The fans we have travelling all the time deserve it and so do the people at home. We've enjoyed success in other sports - the Olympics, rugby and cricket - and we want people interested in football again. That's a big goal for us. We want people to love coming to watch us as well as talking about players and the national team in the way they should," he said."Hopefully this result will help that too and we can carry it forward," he added. "I really don't care if I play or not. I'm just happy for the team, the way they played - and with the six points from two games," Beckham said. (ANI)
