'Equus' creator says Radcliffe's naked scenes 'not porn'

London, Sep 11 (ANI): The creator of Daniel Radcliffe starrer 'Equus' is reportedly irate with the actor's naked scene being dubbed as 'porn'.

Peter Shaffer is not happy with the hype centred around the full frontal scene, as according to him, the build-up has overshadowed his work.

"I was irritated that people talked on and on about it. It was so infantile. In the papers, I was always reading about how Harry Potter is 'waving his other wand'," Telegraph quoted Shaffer, as telling the New York Post.

"There is a great deal more going on in the play, you know. I'm not writing porn, for God's sake!" he added.

However, the 82-year-old playwright was full of praise for Radcliffe's performance.

"Dan's like a naked little animal, so vulnerable, shuddering against the bars," he said.

Radcliffe, 19, will make his Broadway debut in the play, in which he portrays a troubled psychiatric patient who blinds six horses.

Radcliffe recently said of the West End furore: "Offended mothers were calling up and saying I shouldn't be doing this, that they weren't going to go see it. OK, don't see it.

"They're treating it like it's pornography and it's not. It's only seven minutes at the end of the play when I'm naked, and I'm 19 now." (ANI)
