Thandie Newton turned down Charlie's Angel's role for fear of fame
London, Sept 10 (ANI): English actress Thandie Newton has revealed that when she was offered a role in Charlie's Angels, she declined the offer because she was worried it would make her too famous.
Newton, 35, who was about to start filming alongside Cameron Diaz and Drew Barrymore on the 2000 action film, pulled out when she realised that it would propel her to a higher level of fame.

"In career terms it was a platinum opportunity. Or, as my agent put it, 'a one-two punch'," the Daily Express quoted her as saying.
"I was going to do it for about 24 hours. But then I woke up and it just didn't feel right.
"It would have meant entering that virtual world of stardom, but I'd been away from home for nine months (filming Mission: Impossible II) and it would have meant another six months away," she stated.
Newton never regretted her decision, but her agent and manager were so furious with her that they parted company.
"They were appalled. They thought I was committing career suicide," she added. (ANI)
