London, Sept 10 (ANI): Abba musical Mamma Mia! has picked up two prizes at this year's National Movie Awards.
The West End adaptation scooped the best musical gong, while its star Meryl Streep won the best actress award, reports the Daily Express.
Mamma Mia! was nominated alongside 'Enchanted' and Johnny Depp's dark film 'Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber Of Fleet Street'.
Streep beat rivals Amy Adams for Enchanted, Helena Bonham-Carter for the Sweeney Todd film and Ellen Page for Juno.
ITV hosted the second National Movie Awards at London's Royal Festival Hall.
The Dark Knight held off competition from Iron Man, Hancock and The Incredible Hulk to take home the top prize in the new superhero category, while Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull won in the action/adventure section.
Johnny Depp triumphed in the best actor category, which included nominations for Pierce Brosnan (Mamma Mia!), Christian Bale (The Dark Knight) and Harrison Ford (Indiana Jones).
In the family films section, Wall-E, an animation about a robot living in a pollution-riddled Earth, came out on top.
