Pak court adjourns hearing in case against five US nationals

Lahore, Tue, 27 Apr 2010 ANI

Lahore, Apr 27(ANI): A Pakistan Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) on Tuesday adjourned the hearing of the case against five US nationals arrested from Sargodha till May 6.

The hearing was held at the Sargodha jail due to security concerns, The Dawn reported.

The five men, Umer Farooq, Waqar Hussain Khan, Ramy Zamzam, Ahmed Minni and Aman Hassan Yemer were arrested in Sargodha in December last year.

They have been charged under anti-terrorism laws for funnelling money to outlaws and plotting a terror attack that could see them jailed for life if found guilty.

Prosecutors and police had earlier demanded the five men to be charged with plotting militant attacks in Pakistan and attempting to commit an act of terror against countries that are at peace with Pakistan.

Pakistani officials had also claimed that the young men planned to travel to neighbouring Afghanistan and join up with Taliban-led militants fighting US and NATO troops. (ANI)
