Ferguson is a sore loser, says Bayern Munich President

London, Apr 9(ANI): Bayern Munich President Uli Hoeness has hit back at Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson and branded him as a sore loser for his comments following United's Champions League exit.

"We lost in 1999 like gentlemen. Now, United should do the same," The Sun quoted Hoeness, as saying.

Ferguson has blamed 'typical German' attitude of Bayern Munich players and the red card shown to United defender Rafael for his side's quarterfinal defeat.

United surrendered a 3-0 lead, as the German club came back with two goals to finish 3-2. Ferguson's team was eliminated on away goals after a 4-4 aggregate draw.

"They got him (Rafael) sent off, everyone ran towards the referee. Typical Germans. There is no doubt it was a key moment. It was never a sending-off. There's no way they would have won if we'd had 11 men," Ferguson said.

However, Hoeness said: "It's an over reaction on his part maybe because he was disappointed to lose."

"Normally he is a fine gentleman, but I think what he has said is not right. We were honest and cool in Barcelona and they should be the same," he added. (ANI)
