Nov 22: After UTV Motion Picture claimed to have recovered the cost of production even before the release of the movie 'Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal' on November 23 has left the Goal team elated. The movie was premiered at Dubai on Wednesday.
The film ‘Goal’ moulds around the protagonist John Abraham, who through the film takes us in and out of the life full of perseverance and will on a football field.
John said at the premier of the movie in Dubai "It is good to be back in Dubai. It is a lucky place for me to have my films launched. I was here last for the premiere of 'Taxi 9211' and it worked”.
With the red carpet unrolled at the Grand Cineplex in Dubai where the movie was being premiered, the Goal team was studded with Bipasha and the Director of the film Vivek Agnihotri.
John hailed Dubai as an appropriate place for its very South Asian look.
"The film is about racism. It is about South Asians. And Dubai is the place where the whole of South Asia - India, Pakistan and Bangladesh - meets," he added further.
“There is also an element of racism in the film. I was surprised to note that even during the shooting of the film. We experienced this with the British actors. Racism is a reality in Britain, no matter how much it is suppressed,” he said in regret.
But he also mentioned that things have taken a different tune with Indian getting more and more attention.
John himself had headed his team in school and colleges in football matches.
Hence this movie is not just the battle of hope, dreams and pride but will also narrate John’s caliber as a sportsman.
Earlier, the Goal was about to add Ronaldo for its promotional event but sponsorship issues came in the way.
The pair who clicks both in reel and real life will add all that zing to the film ready to kick the goal at the box office.
As one of the new marketing strategy to promote Indian movies, the film producers these days make it a point to premier their films in foreign destinations. This is also in order to increase viewership and an overall breeding of Indian film industry in a global market.
Stars of the films do also prefer to travel various destinations as John Abraham after premiering his previous movie No Smoking in Rome flown to Dubai with other starcast hoping for the success. The film is set to premier in Mumbai on Thursday.
