Nov 21: Roger Federer win against Pete Sampras in the first match in Seoul Exhibition
The world top ranked Tennis player Roger Federer won 6-4,6-3 in the straight sets on Tuesday in the first of the three Asian invitational exhibitions tennis match against Pete Sampras of the United States in Seoul, South Korea.
It was not as easy for the Federer to win the match as he was expected. As he told that he had to fight hard against the old lion Sampras. "Pete was one of my idols growing up and it's great to play him," Federer said. "It wasn't easy for me; it wasn't easy for him as he's been retired five years ago. I am No. 1 and everyone expects me to win."
Sampras won a record 14 Grand Slams but Federer who owns 12 titles, could break the record in 2008. Sampras retired in 2002, a year after the only previous meeting between the pair at Wimbledon. Federer won that fourth-round match in five sets.
