Hurriyat moderate faction demands leaders release
Srinagar, Mar 17 (ANI): Activists of moderate group of the All Party Hurriyat Conference staged protests in Srinagar on Wednesday demanding release of various leaders who were arrested earlier.
The protestors held placards and raised slogans demanding release of arrested leaders including Shabir Ahmad Shah.
In January, the Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested Shah under public safety act (PSA).
"We are staging protest for the release of the separatist leader Shah as well as other separatist leaders who are under house arrest. We want them to release all the leaders and we are also concerned about their bad health," said Zaffar Akbar Bhat, senior Hurriyat leader.
"We want other leaders like Nayeem, and others to be released along with Shah," he added.
The security forces foiled protestors attempt to proceed towards United Nations office. (ANI)
