"I am not guaranteed to go to World Cup at all", says Beckham
Milan, Mar 14(ANI): England midfielder David Beckham insists he is not certain to make manager Fabio Capello's 23-man squad for this summer's World Cup in South Africa.
Beckham also believes that the final few months of his Italian season with AC Milan are crucial for him.
"I am not guaranteed to go to the World Cup at all. I have got to work hard and then, hopefully, I will get my place. There are still a good few months left," The Daily Express quoted Beckham, as saying.
"Hopefully I can carry on playing for AC Milan and play well and get into the England squad," he added.
The 34-year-old's reason behind joining AC Milan on loan from LA Galaxy was to try and safeguard his England future.
However, in recent games coach Leonardo has been using him as a substitute, which have sparked fears that Beckham would not be able to put in the performance to impress Capello. (ANI)
