New Delhi, Mar 9 (ANI): Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh will meet Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh Yadav, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad and Janata Dal-United leader Sharad Yadav today over the Women's Reservation Bill.
Meanwhile, the reported all-party meet is unlikely to be held today.
The decision was taken at the core-group meeting of the Congress party, which was held at the Prime Minister's residence (7, Race Course Road) here on Monday in the wake of postponement of the Women Reservation Bill in the Parliament.
In addition to Dr. Singh and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, senior congress leaders Ahmed Patel, Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, Defence Minister A.K.Antony and Home Minister P. Chidambaram participated in the meet.
The Congress Core Committee, which also met here on Monday, however, is yet to come out with a clear statement whether the bill will be passed after a discussion in the Rajya Sabha or not.
The bill seeks to reserve a third of the seats in parliament and state legislatures for women.
The members of RJD and SP were leading the opposition against the bill and were successful in blocking it in the Rajya Sabha. (ANI)
