McCain says he only can capture Bin Laden

Tue, 01 Jan 2008 ANI

Washington, Sept 5 (ANI): Republican presidential candidate John McCain has said that as a former Navy fighter pilot and a prisoner of war in Vietnam, he had enough experience and knowhow to catch Al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden, as opposed to his rival Democratic presidential candidate Barak Obama.

He said this while responding to Obama's last week accusation that McCain's focus on the Iraq war, rather than pursuing Al Qaeda, had allowed bin Laden to escape in Afghanistan.

The Bush administration has for the past seven years failed to capture Osama, who is believed somewhere in the tribal areas along the Pak-Afghan border.

McCain said that both Clinton and Bush had opportunities to capture Osama, but they failed, and if given a chance he would catch the international fugitive.

"President Clinton had opportunities to get Osama Bin Laden. President Bush had opportunities to get Osama Bin Laden. I know how to do it and I'll do it. I understand and I have the knowledge and the background and the experience to make the right judgments. Senator Obama does not," the Daily Times quoted McCain as saying in a TV interview.

He added that Obama "doesn't know how - how the world works nor how the military works." (ANI)
