Nov 16: The most populous country of China has developed a totally different technique for birth control. Chinese doctors after four years of research in surgery developed a surgery for men, which take just 10 minutes in operation. Science and technology institute of national population and family planning commission and Ghounzou family planning science and technology institute jointly carried the research.
The surgery is different from vasectomy. In vasectomy vas deferens that is tubes that carry sperms from the testicles to the seminal vesicles are sliced or blocked. As a result the semen does not contain sperm removing the possibility of conception.
While in the new technique a small gash is made along the testicles and a tube is placed which works as a filter that blocks the sperms. The results of the surgery have shown no side effects on the sexual health of the operated person. More than 1500 clinical trials were held all over the country to come to the conclusions. The best feature is that the tube can be taken off the body anytime in future. The success rate of the surgery has been extremely high which is 97 percent.
But the operation needs highly trained doctors according to the director of the Guangzhou Family Planning Technology Centre, Wu Weixiong.
The procedure of surgery already patented by the doctors is likely to get approval by the National Food and Drug Administration by next year according to the vice president of Guangzhou Sexology Association, Zhu Jiaming.
