Lucknow, Sat, 12 May 2007 NI Wire

May 12: With a clear cut majority the people of UP have expressed their willingness for Mayawatiâ??s and put an end to the rule of Mulayam Singh Yadav. The results of 2007 assembly election in Uttar Pradesh has turned the tables and with the defeat of Mulayamâ??s party, the Chief Minister has forwarded his resignation to the governor.

Meanwhile a meeting is in progress in Mayawatiâ??s residence for its stand as to take any other party into confidence or not. However, itâ??s clear that Mayawati will be the next UP Chief Minister and is likely to be sworn on Sunday.

BSP spokes person has mentioned that lawlessness will come to an end in the state now but any formal comment from the party leader is yet to come. However, itâ??s simply the majority for BSP.

In this assembly election though extensive campaign has been made from all parties but people have rejected both the Samajwadi Party (SP) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Despite extensive campaigning by Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi for Congress, the party failed to do any wonders here.
