Judo attracts youngsters in Chennai

Chennai, Feb 26 (ANI): The Consulate General of Japan recently organised demonstrations of Judo, a Japanese martial art, in Chennai.

 

Organised as part of Japanese cultural festival, the Japanese form of martial art attracted hordes of enthusiastic youngsters.

 

Judo master Hideaki Sakane, working in the police department in Japan, came down to Chennai and imparted judo training to the youngsters.

 

Sakane expressed happiness that judo is getting popular in India.

 

"The judo has a form of mental training, and polite (politeness) is very important in judo So we respect opponent and I have lived in Chennai for three years I am very happy very because judo spreads in India," said Sakane.

 

Rajgopal, Vice President of Tamil Nadu Judo Association, affiliated to Judo Federation of India said that judo helps in the overall development of human's body."In India, this Judo Federation of India is conducting various kinds of national, state level, district level tournament We are association affiliated with the Judo Federation of India also Practically, every state of India is conducting judo classes We are fortunate to conduct classes here We are not only conducting here, but all the districts of Tamil Nadu, we have been conducting All the affiliated units are coming and practicing judo by which their inferiority complex, their body conditioning has also improved and this judo helps you in real life also," he added.

 

Judo is a Japanese traditional martial art It was established as a form of mental training as well as a sport in the nineteenth century Judo then attracted attention internationally and is now an official event at the Olympic games since 1964 (ANI)
