Nepal assures transporters easy access to Indian highway
Kathmandu, Sept 3 (ANI): Nepal's Minister for Foreign Affairs Upendra Yadav assured the National Federation of Transport Entrepreneurs (NFTE) today that the problems that the transport entrepreneurs been facing while using the Indian highway after the obstruction of the East-West Highway in Sunsarri district will be solved soon.
A team led by NFTE Chairman Dinesh Bhandari met the Foreign Minister in his residence at Pulchowk this morning.
NFTE treasurer Sarad Sitoula said that the NFTE demanded review of the transport agreement between Nepal and India.
At the meeting, the transport entrepreneurs informed Yadav about the economic burden they have to bear while going to the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu to get permission to use Indian highway.
They also asked him to find other alternative ways to operate transportation in eastern Nepal and to make easy transportation access with India, Kantipur reported. (ANI)
