Sensex falls below 16,000 point mark as Asian markets shows downward trend
Mumbai,
Fri, 05 Feb 2010
ANI
Mumbai, Feb 5 (ANI): The Bombay Stock Exchange index benchmark Sensex dropped by over 434 points to 15,790 points in the opening trade on Friday as Asian markets experienced a downward trend.
The 30-share index had lost 271.10 points in the previous season, declined further by over 340 points.
The National Stock Exchange index Nifty also declined by over 90 points.
The market men claimed that the investors sold shares heavily on account of the steep fall in the US and Asian stock markets as poor US data stoked concerns over the strength of an economic recovery sending commodity and energy prices tumbling. (ANI)
