Natalie Portman receives 'Humanity Award' for social commitment
Washington, Sept 2 (ANI): Hollywood actress Natalie Portman has been conferred with a 'humanity award' for her social commitment.
The 27-year-old actress was presented with the 'Movie for Humanity Award' at the Venice Film Festival.
The 'Other Boleyn Girl' star also received a 50,000 dollars cheque, which she donated to the Tacare Girl's Scholarship Programme of the Jane Goodall Institute, a non-profit organisation involved in education and wildlife research in Tanzania.
"The Jane Goodall foundation does incredible work in Tanzania, an area which is very environmentally affected. I really appreciate this award," E! Online quoted Portman, as saying
She also is presenting her directorial debut at the festival, a short film called 'Eve'. (ANI)
