New Delhi, Feb 01 (ANI): Union Home Minister P Chidambaram said here on Monday that meetings of the Chief Minister's of all Maoists affected states would be held from time to time so as to achieve better co-ordination between ground forces.

Presenting the January progress report of his ministry, Chidambaram said: "Meetings with Chief Ministers of Maoists affected states would be held to review the lessons learnt in different states and fine tune the operations."

In January, Chidambaram chaired one such meeting at Raipur in which Chief Ministers of Orissa, Chhattisgarh and senior officials of Maharashtra Government participated.

It was reported that Jharkhand Chief Minister Shibu Soren was kept out of that meeting. But Home Ministry ruled out such observations.

"The operations are totally led by states, the Centre is only facilitating for better co-ordination among the forces," Chidambaram said.

"For February 9 meeting, the Chief Ministers of West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand and Orissa have been invited," he added. (ANI)
