London, September 2 (ANI): Oscar nominee Jude Law made a visit to Afghanistan to urge all warring parties to observe a day of peace on September 21, so that food deliveries and vaccinations could take place.

The Hollywood star visited Kabul in his capacity as an ambassador for the Peace One Day project.

He had visited eastern Afghanistan to appear in a documentary filmed on peace day the previous year, titled 'The Day After Peace'.

Telling about that visit, Law said that a mass vaccination programme he had participated at the time had a profound effect.

"I was hugely moved, not by the conflict that I have read so much about, but by the people's courage and the people's sense of hope," the BBC quoted him as saying.

"It seemed that they really want to make the peace day work. And they did. People recognise the day because they recognise that lives could be saved," he added.

After his secret visit last year, Law vowed to make a return to Afghanistan to screen The Day After Peace. (ANI)
