Bangalore Fashion Week feature shimmering silks

Bangalore, Jan 30 (ANI): Celebrities, models and designers had thronged day two of the Bangalore Fashion Week, where the focus was on shimmering silks and jewel colours.

Shantanu and Nikhil, Abdul Halder and Preethi Chandra were among the 30 designers, who presented their Winter/Spring creations at the fashion extravaganza.

Chandra's collection mixed glamour with flower power, as models took to the runway in sequined hot pink tunics and dip-dyed indigo blue maxi dresses, with headbands over their 1970s inspired wavy hair.

"It was a very close to nature collection. My prints usually are very natural, flowers and roses and it was a very feminine collection. So we made a lot of birds and butterflies as accessories," said Chandra.

From ornate traditional Indian wear to flirty shift dresses, the collections brought together the best of the East and the West.

Abdul Halder said, "See, it's time to give something new to the women, so they can feel that there's a designer who can design only for women."

Bollywood stars Deepika Padukone, Preity Zinta, and Mugdha Godse are some of the big names that would be walking the ramp.

The second edition of the fashion spectacle kicked off on Thursday and will end on Sunday. (ANI)
