MNS says deadline for Marathi signboards not extended

Tue, 01 Jan 2008 ANI

Mumbai, Aug 31 (ANI): Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray on Sunday said that the deadline to put Marathi signboards on shops has not been extended.

According to a press release Raj said, "I have not extended the deadline to put Marathi signboards on shops," and added that no extension would be given to any shop owner in the state.

Last week, a delegation of shop owners had met Raj requesting him to extend the deadline for Marathi signboards by three months, which ended on August 28.

However, the MNS chief today denied the news of extending the deadline.

He said that it was a rumour spread by the media that he has given three more months to shop owners. (ANI)
