Islamabad, Aug 31 (ANI): Amid news reports that PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari, who is running in the September 6 presidential polls, might continue to hold his party post after assuming the country's top post till his son and party chief Bilawal Bhutto assumes the actual control of the party affairs, a senior PML-N leader has said that Zardari should resign after assuming presidency because the post was "non-partisan".
"The president should always be non-partisan, but the Presidency will again become abode of a political party if Zardari is elected president," the Daily Times quoted PML-N Information Secretary Ahsan Iqbal as saying while interacting with press persons.
Ahsan said former president Pervez Musharraf had also been running affairs of the PML-Quaid (PML-Q). "The dignity of the office of president needs to be restored," he added. (ANI)
