New Delhi, Dec 30 (ANI) : Ruchika Girhotra's father, Subhash, and the family's advocate Pankaj Bhardwaj met Union Home Minister P Chidambaram on Wednesday to discuss the molestation case.

Emerging from the meeting, Advocate Pankaj Bhardwaj, said: "We are very satisfied with the meeting. He knew the entire case and I will have to give him some documents. It is an old case."

Bhardwaj said there were many ways to re-open the case under Section 306, which relates to abetment to suicide.

He described the meeting with Chidambaram as an exchange of ideas to find the best remedy in the prevailing situation.

Subhash Girhotra said: " The minister (Chidambaram) gave us a patient hearing".

Earlier, during a telephonic conversation with Girhotra, Chidambaram reportedly expressed his willingness to have a one to one meeting to discuss the case.

In the morning, a Panchkula sessions court rejected the interim bail plea of former Haryana Director General of Police (DGP) SPS Rathore who was held guilty for molesting Ruchika 19 years ago.

With the rejection of interim bail, Rathore who was earlier handed a six months jail sentence for molesting Ruchika, may be arrested soon.

Rathore had filed a bail application after two fresh cases were filed against him. (ANI)
