Here in Russian Culture Center we get together we organize our festival for our families for our children to being out our culture staying in India so we bring in our culture and our traditions to our Indian families."

STORY: Around 100 couples with Russian wives and Indian husbands attended the third All-India Conference of Delhi Association of Russian Compatriots (DARC) in national capital New Delhi on Monday (December 28).

 

The Conference was held in the Russian Culture Center.

 

Elena Barman, president of Delhi Association of Russian Compatriots (DARC) said that the aim of this conference was to spread Russian culture and traditions in the families staying in India.

 

"See, like we have loads of Russians especially ladies who got married and settled in India our association is for the Indo-Russian families basically. Here in Russian Culture Center we get together we organize our festival for our families for our children to being out our culture staying in India so we bring in our culture and our traditions to our Indian families," said Barman.

 

Members of DARC are Russian women married to Indian citizens who have raised their families and are now settled in the country for the past many years.

 

There were colourful New Year celebrations with cultural programmes presented by children. The event is aimed at strengthening bilateral relations with India.
