Kazakhstan on course with 2010 development strategy
Astana (Kazakhstan), Dec. 28 (ANI): President Nursultan Nazarbayev has said that Kazakhstan is on course with its development strategy for 2010, notwithstanding the financial meltdown of the previous two years.
Speaking in an interview with the country's media last week, Nazarbayev revealed that the anti-recession steps undertaken by his government needed the full and active support of the media.
"As soon as 2010 begins Kazakhstan starts executing the Development Strategy till 2020. Early 2010 we are going to start fulfilling the first five-year plan of improving economy", the President said.
The president also set new tasks to the media entities, namely to bring it to the attention of the population that it is them who are responsible for their future. He also urged to promulgate the values of education, healthy life style and honest initiative business.
The issues of the state language development, land relations, national unity doctrine, and activity of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan, Customs Union and post-crisis development were touched upon as well at the meeting. (ANI)
