Indo-Bangladesh Home Secretary level talks to begin today
Dhaka, Aug 29 (ANI): The 9th Home Secretary level talks between India and Bangladesh will begin here today.
The two-day meeting is expected to discuss various security related issues, border management issues as well as ways of enhancing cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of both sides.
The Indian delegation is led by the Union Home Secretary, Madhukar Gupta and the Bangladesh delegation by their Secretary, Ministry of Home Affair, Mohammad Abdul Karim.

The last meeting was held at Delhi on August 2-3, 2007.
In the run up to the forthcoming Home Secretary level talks, Director General level talks between Border Security Force (BSF) and Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) were held at Dhaka on August 20-25.
After the last Home Secretary level talks, the mechanism of the Joint Working Group at the level of Joint Secretary has been revived. The meeting of this group was held in New Delhi on May 28-29, 2008.
These meetings are part of the institutional mechanism set up in 1993 to resolve various issues of mutual concern between the two countries.
Apart from the Home Secretary level talks, Director General level meetings between BSF and BDR are held twice a year. (ANI)
