Zardari can't be removed through 'negative means': Pak Punjab Governor
Lahore, Dec. 25 (ANI): Lending support to troubled President Asif Ali Zardari, Pakistan's Punjab province Governor Salman Taseer has said that people using 'negative methods' would never succeed in dethroning the President.
Speaking to a delegation of lawyers at the Governor's House here, Taseer said Zardari was elected by a two-third majority and added that it was not easy to remove him from the Presidency.
"President Zardari is different from Ishaq Khan and Rafique Tarar and he cannot be removed through negative means," The Daily Times quoted Zardari, as saying.
"As in the past, those who play a negative role against democracy will earn a bad name," he added.
Backing the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) government, Taseer said it was Zardari and the PPP who saved the country from falling apart, and that the party had played a major role in removing 'dictatorship' from the country. (ANI)
Zardari says peaceful South Asia can result in enormous benefits.
Senior party leader bemoans lack of 'democracy' within Zardari's PPP.
"Zardari wants Musharraf to continue, as his removal 'may lead to chaos'".
West made Pak a 'petrie dish' of international terrorism, says Zardari.
