Afridi to utilise Big Bash T20 tournament as 'warm up' for ODI's against Aussies
Karachi, Dec. 25 (ANI): Swashbuckling Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi is hoping to utilize the KFC Big Bash, Australia's domestic Twenty20 extravaganza, as warm-up matches to prepare himself for the limited over series against the Aussies.
"The matches I will be playing in the Twenty20 tournament will help me get ready for the one-day series," Afridi told The News before leaving for Perth, where he will begin his stint for South Australia on December 28
Afridi said despite losing some of the great players, Australia still remains a tough side to beat at home, but expressed confidence about Pakistan doing well during the long tour.
"It is going to be a tough series because Australia are still one of the world's best teams but I'm also confident about our chances because we have a lot of talented players," he said.
Afridi is one of the biggest stars in the Aussie T20 tournament which will also feature hard hitters like West Indies captain Chris Gayle, all-rounder Dwayne Bravo, Pakistan fast bowler Sohail Tanvir, New Zealand skipper Daniel Vettori and and England all -rounder Dimitri Mascarenhas. (ANI)
