Mid-term elections need of the hour in Pakistan: Imran Khan
Islamabad, Dec.24 (ANI): Criticising the Gilani government for the country's present chaotic situation, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan has called for mid-term elections in the country.
Coming down hard on the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) government, Khan termed it as the worst government ever, saying it has offered nothing but unemployment and violence in its regime.
The cricketer-turned-politician said the government has done nothing for the poor, needy people of the country, and blamed it for taking dictations from foreign authorities.
"We have sold our dignity and security and have given the authority to IMF and other international organisations to take decisions of our future. Situation of common man is very poor and middle class is also in trouble. The party which always raised slogan of rights of the poor has done nothing for poor people," The Nation quoted Khan, as saying.
He also criticised the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), saying it is equally responsible for pushing the country towards destruction.
"At the one hand, it (the PML-N) is claiming to oppose corruption but, on the other hand, it is extending support to the corrupt elements," Khan added. (ANI)
