National Women's Commission to investigate Ruchika case
New Delhi, Dec 23 (ANI) : The National Commission for Women on Wednesday decided to form committee to examine Ruchika Girhotra case.
The committee comprising of advocates will examine the sequence of events since the complaint was first filed against former Haryana DGP SPS Rathore.
According to NCW the committee would also investigate whether there was any attempt to hush up the matter.
The NCW will ask the committee to submit a report within two months.
A 14-year-old Ruchika killed herself sixteen years ago.
The then DGP Rathore who was accused of molesting Ruchika managed to escape with a paltry fine and a mere sentence of six months imprisonment for which bail has already been granted.
The civil rights organisations are demanding to charge Rathore with abetting suicide. (ANI)
