Mumbai, Dec 22 (ANI): Activists of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) brutally beat up 'sadhus' here on Monday, who allegedly passed remarks against MNS chief Raj Thackeray.

The 'sadhus were sleeping outside the Siddhivinayak temple when the MNS activists attacked them.

MNS was formed by Raj Thackeray in 2005 who deserted Shiv Sena, known for its anti-immigrant rhetoric and the belief that Mumbai belongs to the ethnic Marathi community.

The MNS has faced flak from various quarters for indulging in linguistic politics and trying to revive the anti-immigrant rhetoric. (ANI)
