Chennai International Fashion Week offers a good platform for budding designers
Chennai, Dec.19 (ANI): The ongoing Chennai International Fashion Week (CIFW) has offered a good platform for budding fashion designers and models.
CIFW has been organised to showcase and market the Designers' collections to the global fashion fraternity.
This fashion week also aims at showcasing India as an important destination for foreign buyers and designers' wanting to make South Asian market inroads.
Friday, the third day of the fashion week, saw a number of designers showcasing their creation.
The maiden edition of Chennai Fashion week which started on Wednesday and will last till Dec.20.
In this well attended global pageant, 30 Indian fashion designers and 10 international guest designers are participating which will witness 35 fashion shows and 60 models from India and abroad sashaying down the ramp before a spectacular gathering.
Experts believe this event could prove to be an ideal opportunity of growth in fashion industry here. They also foresee ample prospects for designers to further nurture their creativity and make an eternal mark in the fashion industry.
"My concept is to create a completely alternate product line based on Kanjivaram silk which is my endeavor, which is what I have shown at Chennai international fashion week today (December 18), and more so I don't want to create a line and I want to create something which can be worn by anybody and everybody across the world." said Satkrit Krishna, a budding designer.
Models from across the country have also termed the Chennai International Fashion Week as the gateway to work with national and international designers.
"I have an amazing experience because...of the designers had an interesting mixture of European and Asian culture and I felt extremely elegant and posh in his fluorescent dresses," said Dana Foia, a Romanian model. (ANI)
