Berlusconi Milan attack boosts sales of souvenir statuette
New York, Dec 19 (ANI): Sales of statuettes of Milan's gothic cathedral, the Duomo, have seen a sudden boom after a similar piece was used by a man to knock off Italian Premier Silvio Berlusconi's teeth earlier in the week, say souvenir vendors.
Massimo Tartaglia had thrown a small figurine of the Duomo on Berlusconi's face on Sunday in Milan.
And now the souvenir replica has become one of the most popular items on people's Christmas shopping list, according to a vendor, reports the New York Times.
Although, foreigners are showing a keen interest in the statuettes, the incident also saw over 63,000 people signing up Tartaglia's fans on a Facebook page created for him within a day of the attack, reports The Lede.
The page was later deleted by the social-networking website.
