London, Dec 17 (ANI): 'Twenty Tens' is likely to become a popular nickname in the next decade, according to a new survey.
In the survey conducted by insurance comparison website Gocompare.com, over 5,000 Brits were asked to choose the best from a list of potential titles for 2010-2019 - including the Teenies, the Tenties and the Tenners.
Of which 'Twenty Tens' emerged as a favourite nickname - with more than 30 per cent believing it was the catchiest.
"The name of a decade is incredibly evocative," the Telegraph quoted Nicholas Hall, from Gocompare.com, as saying.
Hall said: "You only have to say The Eighties, for instance, and a host of images, sounds and memories are instantly recalled.
"Brits have become incredibly media savvy in recent years, and love to think in terms of decades, whether it's discussing the politics or the pop music of the era.
"The 'Twenty Tens' has a good ring to it."
He added: "The mark of a truly iconic decade, of course, is whether or not it's a given an additional description, such as the Swinging Sixties or the Roaring Twenties.
"It will be interesting to see if the next 10 years is as memorable in the public's consciousness." (ANI)
