Delhi land scam: Charge sheet against Malhotra and officers of DDA
Nov 06: On Monday central investigating agency filed charge sheet against eight accused with Ashok Malhotra as the key accused in the multi-crore land scam, one Delhi assembly official and six DDA officials, including director.
In the special court of S K Kaushik, CBI charged all of them with fraud, forgery and criminal conspiracy.

Ashok Malhotra has been charged of criminal conspiracy in collaboration with some DDA officials having forged the documents for getting plots which were to be allotted to the displaced slum dwellers as he prepared fake ration cards, identity proofs, photographs, bank accounts and other necessary documents.
DDA officials, Khaman Singh Verma deputy director, Jeet Ram Gaur, Ajay Kumar Sharma, Shyam Babu, Sunil Kumar Sharma,, Arun Mishra and have been charged of joining him as they not only allotted the land without the verification of the documents attached to the applications of Malhotra but also helped in preparing such forged documents.
Under secretary of Delhi Assembly, Lal Mani is still to be arrested.
In July CBI registered a case against nine people including Ashok Malhotra and started enquiry following which houses of several people including Malhotra were raided.
Ashok Malhotra the main accused is said to be a street vendor in the past who amassed wealth worth crores of rupees in a very short span which sounds a filmy tale. The center of attraction at the time of raids was his large fleet of luxury cars all with VIP numbers’ plates.
