American Idol named 'Top-Rated TV Show of 2009'

Washington, Dec 12 (ANI): Fox's American Idol has taken the top-two positions in Nielsen's list of 'Top-rated TV Series' of 2009.

'Dancing with the Stars' also bagged two positions in the list, reports Contactmusic.

CBS's NCIS Los Angeles came sixth and CBS's the Good Wife landed the tenth spot.

A cable-TV series also made the list -- ESPN's Monday Night Football, which tied for eighth place.

The top ten TV shows of 2009 are:

2. American Idol (Tuesday), Fox

3. Dancing with the Stars (Monday), ABC

4. Sunday Night Football, NBC

5. Dancing with the Stars (Tuesday)

6. NCIS Los Angeles, CBS

7. NCIS, CBS

8. Monday Night Football, ESPN

8. Sunday Night Football Pre-kickoff, NBC
