Madhu Koda hospitalised on court directive

Ranchi, Dec 9 (ANI): Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda and his Kamalesh Singh, accused in the multi crore mine scam, were admitted to hospital here on Wednesday after courts direction for the same.

 

According to Jharkhand Police, the duo were admitted to hospital on the court's direction.

 

"Both Madhu Koda and Kamlesh Singh were brought to the hospital this morning and doctor R.K. Jha, who is the acting head of the medicine, is treating both of them," said RIMS Director M.K. Rai.

 

On November 30, the court sent both Koda and Singh to 14 days judicial custody following their arrest by the state police.

 

Apart from Koda and Singh, two of his former cabinet colleagues, Bhanu Pratap Shahi and Bhandu Tirkey as well as five other persons, have been booked on charges of corruption under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.

 

Koda is suspected to have purchased mines in Liberia worth 1.7 million US dollars. (ANI)
