When Gordon Brown confused Reese Witherspoon with Renée Zellweger

London, Dec 3 (ANI): British Prime Minister Gordon Brown bungled in the House of Commons when he confused Reese Witherspoon with Renée Zellweger.

The 'Walk The Line' star was the keynote speaker at a press conference in the Commons calling for more Government help for victims of domestic violence, reports the Sun.

Brown's gaffe came after Labour's Lynda Walth asked him to congratulate Witherspoon for her support.

Brown said: "I'm very grateful that Renée Witherspoon is leading this campaign."

"She spoke movingly at the funeral of Anthony Minghella and I welcome her to the House today," he added.

Brown went to film director Minghella's memorial service last year - but it was Zellweger, 40, not Witherspoon, who was there.

The 33-year-old actress said: "There is an impenetrable wall of silence around violence. We must all play a role in breaking it." (ANI)
