Ben Kingsley wants financial support from Indian producers for his film on Taj Mahal
Agra, Dec.2 (ANI): British actor Ben Kingsley on Wednesday sought financial help from Indian producers to make a film on Taj Mahal, the monument of love.
Ben Kingsley is known world wide for starring as Mahatma Gandhi in the famous film 'Gandhi' in 1982, for which he won the Oscar award in Best actor category.
65-year-old Kingsley said that the film titled 'Taj' was his dream project and he hoped that the Indian producers will provide financial help despite economic slowdown.
"The main reason for visiting India is to raise funds for my proposed film on the building of Taj Mahal and the life and genius of the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan.
About the expect budget of this film, Kingsley said: "It is about 27 million US Dollars".
Kingsley said he hoped Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, the former Miss World, would play the role of Mumtaz Mahal.
'Taj', which is being produced by Kingsley's company SBKPictures, is about Shah Jahan and his quest to build the monumental Taj Mahal in memory of his third and favourite wife, Mumtaz Mahal, who died giving birth to their 14th child. (ANI)
