Hyundai Motor India Limited launched i10 for Rs 3.3 Lakh
Nov 03: Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL), in a star studded event launched its latest model i10 at Mumbai on Wednesday. i10 became the first car to make its debut from India and also the sole production and export unit in the world.

1 litre intelligent Repressive Drive Engine (iRDE) petrol engine with great performance and matchless fuel economy. The unit develops 067PS @9500 rpm of maximum power and a peak torque of 10.1 kgm @2800rpm. The engine is assisted with a 5 speed manual transmission with a console mounted ergonomic, short throwi-shift gear box which provide ample space between the driver and the passenger seat.
To make the journey effortless the steering wheel is powered with electricity.
The car’s other features include the rear spoiler, leather wrapped steering wheel and gear knob, keyless entry and a stereo system.
Safety features include anti-lock braking system (ABS), seat belts with pre-tensioner, dual airbags, impact sensing auto door unlock system and high-mounted stop lamp. The car will have four variants D-Lite, Era, Magna and D-auto.
President of Hyundai Motor Company (HMC) Jae Kock Chon said that HMIL will play an important role in India as well as it will accentuate the HMC’s global plan. He commended i10 for having best of Hyundai’s design and technology.
In India an emerging auto hub, the i10 is priced at 3.3 Lakh to 3.98 Lakh, this compact car designed to make way in Indian homes with a middle class background.
HMIL is wholly owned subsidiary of Hyundai Motor Company, a South Korean car giant. It is the second largest and fastest growing car market of India. HMIL entered in Indian market in the year 1996 and launched its first car ‘Santro’ which became a huge success. It is known for providing car with value for money package.
Many of the car giants has studied the car market of India and shifted their export bases here taking advantage of cheap labour cost and cheaper tax rate announced by the Government of India to make India an automobile heart.
Hyundai has also announced to come with a cheaper car that will cost around Rs 2 Lakh.
