Nov 03: BJP seems in no hurry to dispatch a quick reply to the letter sent to it by JD (S) supremo Gowda. Today party sources said that party president Rajnath Singh is in no mood to hit a quick response to Dev Gowda as both will discuss the issues at length once the BJP- JD (S) combine is invited by the governor of the state to form the government.
He told that he is waiting for the President’s Rule to be revoked and governor’s call for the formation of the government in the state.
12-point program of Gowda after the promise of unconditional support to BJP has been an irritant and quite objectionable to BJP cadre. This has created unrest in the BJP camp as a consequence of which Venkaiah Naidu has been sent to Bangalore to sort out the matter.
Out of his 12 conditions some are that the alliance of both parties should be valid only till the Lok Sabha elections and Deputy Chief Minister will be nominated from JD (S) cadre. Apart from these demands Gowda also sought the assurance for the protection of minorities and dalits. He is quoted to have demanded even the liberty to walk out of the coalition. Another demand is the say of H D Kumaraswamy in the allotment of the portfolios to ministers.
Gowda has threatened BJP to take support back if conditions are not met. Venkaiah Naidu has said that it is first and foremost duty of the governor to invite the combine to form the government in view of the clear majority with them.
In case the president’s rule is not revoked BJP plans to parade their MLAs before the president.
