Melbourne, Nov 27 (ANI): Olympic swimmer Eamon Sullivan has been crowned as the first Celebrity MasterChef beating his competitors Rachael Finch and Kirk Pengilly.

The 24-year-old Aussie had gone into the Network Ten cooking competition determined, and was surprised to win after struggling through the taste test when he mixed up rosemary and thyme in Spanish paella.

"It was pretty stressful - I was very lucky," the Herald Sun quoted him as saying from Canberra, where he's competing in the AIS international swimming meet. I thought I was probably going to stuff up the rest because I was so angry.

"I was lucky enough I could get some nerves together and muster up something to get back in the competition," he said.

Sullivan won over the judges in the second round, cooking a chocolate delice with judge Gary Mehigan even licking the plate.

After a disastrous start, he finished with 59 points - just four points ahead of Pengilly and 13 in front of Finch.

Sullivan will hand over the winning MasterChef cheque of 50,000 dollars to The Royal Life Saving Society's Swim, Survive, Stay Alive program. (ANI)
