A Q Khan's security as per courts proceedings: Pak Interior Ministry
Islamabad, Nov 26(ANI): Pakistan's Interior Ministry counsel Ahmar Bilal Sufi has said the security provided to nuclear scientist Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan is in accordance with the judicial proceedings, and no separate order regarding the security has been issued.
This was told to the Rawalpindi bench of Lahore High Court (LHC), which is hearing the petitions regarding the unchecked movements of Dr Abdul Qadeer.
It is pertinent to mention here that Dr. Khan had challenged his official protocol, terming it a violation of his fundamental rights, following which the Lahore High Court directed the concerned authorities to remove all restrictions on his movements.
However, under intense international pressure, the government appealed against the court's directives, which saw the court put a stay order on the verdict. (ANI)
