Raipur, Nov 25(ANI): Hundreds of farmers in Chhattisgarh's Raipur district forced a shutdown on Wednesday in protest against non-fulfillment of their demands.

The farmers were protesting to press for higher bonus on rice, increase in the support price of rice, free electricity and release of arrested farmers.

The farmer's courted arrest, but the shutdown remained largely peaceful.

"We made the tea stalls, shops shutdown peacefully then we came to the bus stand, but on the bus stand our associates were arrested. But, as you can see we have not resorted to the violence and the strike has been successful," said Deepak Sahu, an arrested farmer. (ANI)
