Oprah Winfrey settles mum's legal dispute
London, Nov 25 (ANI): Talk show queen Oprah Winfrey has finally settled a year-long legal dispute between her mother and bosses of a Wisconsin clothing boutique.
According to the court documents, Vernita Lee had an open-ended charge account with Brookfield boutique Valentina Inc. and racked up the bill in 2008, according to court papers.
According to Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, she was sued by the company for failing to pay the bill in agreed monthly increments of 1,250 pounds.
However, Lee filed a counter claim, insisting she should not have to pay interest on the account because store bosses extended credit to her even though they were well aware of her troubles managing debt, reports the Daily Express.
Winfrey has finally settled the dispute by paying out 97,220 pounds in outstanding bill. (ANI)
