Govt. has not rejected Liberhan Commission recommendations: Moily

New Delhi, Nov 24(ANI): Union Law Minister Virappa Moily on Tuesday said that no recommendation made in the Liberhan Commission report has been rejected.

 

Addressing the media after the report was tabled in the Parliament, Moily said that the Government might go beyond recommendations and pick up from the conclusions.

 

"We have not rejected the recommendations. Each and every recommendation has been accepted and noted. The Union Government is bound to take positive action," Moily said.

 

"It has already formulated the Action Taken report (ATR). The Liberhan Commission is a fact-finding mission and further to that each ministry is expected to take on that and take action," he added.

 

Moily also informed that 68 persons have been indicted in the Action Taken Report and Government will take positive action in this direction.

 

The United Progressive Alliance Government finally tabled the much-awaited report on the Babri Masjid demolition after the Opposition staged uproar over its leakage to the media before its tabling in Parliament.

 

Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram presented the Librehan Report along with a 13-page ATR in the Rajya Sabha today. (ANI)
