Roman Polanski's LA attorneys blast his French lawyer
London, November 24 (ANI): The Los Angeles based attorneys of filmmaker Roman Polanski, who is imprisoned in Switzerland on an ongoing child sex case, have blasted his French lawyer for speaking to the media.
The helmer's French lawyer Herve Temime revealed to local newspaper Le Figaro that he would challenge his extradition to U.S.
He said: "We maintain that Mr Polanski did not face a fair trial in Los Angeles. For all these reasons, among others, his position remains unchanged: he will not accept being extradited to the United States."
However, Polanski's Los Angeles-based attorneys Douglas Dalton, Bart Dalton and Chad Hummel have slammed Temime.
"Any statements made in the press to the effect that Mr. Polanski will not accept lawful orders of the courts, including relating to extradition, are not true," the Daily Express quoted them as stating in a statement.
The statement further added that Dr. Lorenz Erni in Switzerland and Polanski himself are the only others "authorised to speak on his behalf".
Polanski has been refused three bail attempts and may be imprisoned for more months.
He had pleaded guilty of having unlawful sex with a 13-year-old girl in 1977 girl, but fled the U.S. before he could be sentenced. (ANI)
